Specifications:

  • Transmission Range: UP TO 400 Feet (open area ONLY)
  • Transmission Range: 434 MHz
  • PIR(Passive Infra-red Sensor) Range: 20 X 30 Feet
  • Receiver: 3 X 1.5V "C-Size" battery, not included
  • Transmitter: 1 X 9V battery, not included
  • FCC Part 15 Compliance

Important Note:

A) Whenever installing the PIR(Passive Infra-red Sensor) for the 1st time, the red LED on the PIR sensor will be on for 60 seconds and the chime unit will sound for about 60 seconds in order to stabilize the units 1st.

B) In some applications the motion detector may be too sensitive, resulting in false alerts. To remedy this situation, put masking tape or labels on each side of the sensor window. Start on the sides and add an equal length of masking tape or labels to each side. Test the detector and add more covering if needed. Keep the band as narrow as 1/8" wide or wider depending on individual situation. Some trial and error may be required to find the optimal width.

Few Tips:

  • The outside motion sensor takes a 9 volt battery and you should use only lithium batteries in the outside unit as lithium batteries are not as temperature sensitive as regular batteries, which perform poorly when cold. Lithium batteries are more expensive up front but they last 5 to 7 times or more longer than a regular battery.
  • some customers have complained that the unit goes off for no reason. We found that flying insects were setting off the unit by flying near it. Solution for that problem is to spray flying insect killer around the unit every 2-4 weeks or so in the summer. Others might want to adjust or reduce the sensitivity of the motion detector by placing black electrical or other suitable tape over the sensor window.
