Windows users: File and folder backup or complete system
backup, its your choice. The included NTI Backup Now EZ software takes
the mystery out of what to backup by scanning your system and
recommending the best coverage for your computer. Choose between backing
up your files and folders, backing up everything on your hard drive, or
choose both for the most comprehensive coverage. The Drive Space Alert
will monitor your Toshiba drive and let you know when it is getting
full.
Recovering a file or your entire computer is simple. Click the
restore button and you can recover a file or folder, boot to your
Toshiba Portable External Hard Drive and it will restore your entire
computer. Weve even included a utility to burn a boot CD/DVD to make the
process even simpler.
Mac users: Backing up your Macs most important data is easy
with NTIs Shadow 4 for Mac. Just select the files you want to backup,
how often your backup takes place and youre covered. Weve even included
sync, (a new feature for Shadow), so you can keep your files
synchronized between different Macs. The Drive Space Alert will monitor
your Toshiba drive and let you know when it is getting full.
Recovering a file or a folder is a snap, just click the restore
button and drag/drop your file where ever you need it to go. Want to use
Apples Time Machine? No problem. Our drives are Time Machine compatible
right out of the box.
Advanced options for both Windows and Mac users: For those who
want to customize their backup routine, weve added some advanced
settings. Options include the ability to select only the most common
file types, (like work documents, pictures, movies, music, etc.), change
how often your backup takes place (hourly, daily, weekly, etc.), change
the threshold settings on the Drive Space Alert, and enable
password-protected data encryption, (up to 256-bit), to prevent
unauthorized access to your data.
